Unlike deep peels, medium peels may be
performed safely on Asians and people with
olive and light brown skin. With the Asian
skin, we do realize that the skin oil is a
challenge - preparing the skin for the TCA -
washing, swiping with alcohol, swiping with
a little TCA on a wet pad. Anything you can
do to remove the oils prior to the peel will
further enhance its application. We would
also like to encourage those with severe
scarring to seriously consider doing one of
our peels.
To make it even easier, we provide you with
a special "Step by Step Instructions" to
easily refer to while you're doing the peel. It
helps you from the first to the last step of
your peel. The peel is so easy to do and your
skin will look so beautiful when it's over!
TCA COMPLEX EXFOLIATION works by
causing sloughing or removal of the upper
layers of skin.The most common form of
acne is caused as hair follicles get
clogged by the oil your skin naturally
produces, normally the sebum (skins
natural oil) travels up the hair follicle and
out to the surface of the skin. However,
with acne, sebum is trapped within the
follicle and the skin, causing bacteria to
multply within the clogged pores. By
removing the dead layers of skin (doing a
"peel") you're also removing all the grime
that's blocking up your pores and exposing
fresh, new skin that can breathe, you're
also removing some of the excess oil that
is produced and with less oil it reduces the
amount of oil being trapped in the hair
follicle.
